2026 NCAFA Flag Football Season

The regular season of games begins on Saturday May 23 and finish up on Sunday June 21.
The Open (boys) divisions of OU10, OU12, and OU14 play on Saturdays.
All of the girls divisions (GU12, GU14, GU16, GU20) and  OU16 (boys)  play on Sundays.  
With our ever growing OU16 division of the past years we fully expect to offer OU19 this year (it will play on Sundays).

Divisions are determined by birth year not age when playing.
  • OU10 (2017 and younger)
  • OU12  and GU12 (2015, 2016)
  • OU14 and GU14 (2013, 2014)
  • OU16 and GU16 (2011, 2012)
  • OU19 (2008-2010)
  • GU20 (2007-2010)

Registration opens around Februrary 1st, if not sooner, for all participating clubs. Check out their websites for winter programs and when spring sessions begin.

2026 Flag Football Tournaments

A great website or app for flag football tournaments is www.zortssports.com. Lots of US tournaments and more and more Canadian tournaments. The link above focusses on Canadian tournaments and Football Canada, Football Ontario tournaments. 

2026 Redblacks NCAFA Fall Flag
September October, Kaladar Park (2554 Kaladar Ave.), Saturday mornings. Boys and girls welcome. ages 2011-2020). This past year was the first year of this program. It was a combination of skills and games. As it grows the games part will become more official with set teams and a season of games. This past year's numbers allowed for more informal scrimmages.  Registration for this program will begin in May. Click here for more info and registration.

Football canada virtual Flag football clinic

Led directly by members of Canada’s men’s and women’s National Flag Football Team coaching staffs, the first academy for flag football coaches will be the only national program of its kind in Canadadesigned to offer structured, instructional clinic sessions for both coaches and players in flag football. All sessions will be delivered online, making the academy accessible nationwide. Click here for more information and registration link.

9am - 1pm , younger groups are first, older groups are later, sessions are 75 minutes
-boys and girls from anywhere in Ottawa area welcome (ages 2011-2020)
-great for newcomers to the game of flag football
-more experienced players will continue to develop with our great coaches
-focus on skills and drills but some great indoor game like activities too!

NCAFA Flag bursaries

NCAFA will award one bursary to a female midget (GU20) player  and one bursary to a male bantam (U16) or midget (U19) player. Each bursary is in the amount of $500.00. 

The award is based on the following criteria:
- a high academic standing (over 75% from the previous year); 

- a significant level of on-field performance; 

- a number of years playing football and progression; and 

- an important contribution to his/her team. 

Players who want to apply for this award complete most of the documents needed for application. 

  1. The player will submit a scan or image of a recent school transcript.
  2. The player will write up a chronology of his/her club involvement (list years of participation) and then write a maximum of 250 words on what his/her involvement with a club’s flag football program has meant to him/her (e.g. skill development, leadership, community involvement, social, personal growth etc.)
  3. The player will obtain a letter of reference from a club official (coach, past coach, administrator etc.)
  4. Send all of the documents to rodmoors12@gmail.com

Spring Fling – Mavericks Flag Football 5v5 Tournament
